Emergence Productions, established in 2001, began by
promoting the numerous professional and talented Indian entertainers and
performers of Native America and Canada.
From 2002-2004, Melissa Sanchez worked with her tribe, as Entertainment Manager
for Sky City Casino Hotel. Melissa brought national attention to Sky City
Casino Hotel by developing the “Emergence Performance Series”, a year round
concert event featuring the best of the best Native American talent and
received write ups in national publications such as Native Peoples Magazine and
prominent industry literature such as Indian Gaming Magazine and Native
American Casino.
In September 2004, Melissa and partner Emmett “Shkeme” Garcia (lead singer for
Native Roots) reopened their company to once more focus their energies on
increasing the awareness of the Native American entertainment genre. Currently
Emergence Productions is producing shows in venues nationally and have expanded
company productions to include theatre and Youth Cultural Exchanges.
